Bonjour Reader!
The holidays are sneaking up on us! I hope that you are taking care of yourself as the season ramps up. I know that Adriene's Yummy Yoga episode has been on repeat in my living room! 🧘🏻♀️
The most exciting news is that we hit 1,000 downloads of the podcast!!! Thank you so much for helping hit this milestone! 😁
The episode that tipped the scales was the Halloween episode about the Mystery of King Henri IV's Skull. The Vert Galant is having a (potentially) rather bizarre afterlife! If you haven't checked it out yet, head on over to the website or your favorite podcasting app.
Speaking of, Paris Gone By is now available on Amazon Podcasts. If you listen to Amazon Podcasts/Music, please subscribe here.
And, at the beginning of the month, I shared a new France Virtuelle collection. You can take a rainy Fall walk in Le Marais, check out the animals that live at Versailles, learn about Vikings in Normandy, and more!
Here in the US, Thanksgiving is just a week away. And between high costs and low supplies, the stressful Turkey Day prep has been especially overwhelming this year. We won't discuss how hard it was to hunt down a boneless, skinless turkey breast for my petite famille. But it did involve six different stores. 😑
This is also a season to give thanks for our blessings. And I want to give thanks to you, dear readers, for supporting Paris Gone By and making all the effort worth it. This is a labor of love and seeing it finally start to grow after a long period of basically speaking into the void (and to my patient friends and family) is the best gift I could receive. Merci mille fois!
If you are looking for a new Paris themed book for a friend (or yourself), head on over to the Paris Gone By Boutique. Here you can find a curated collection of books to satisfy the curious Francophile. There is now a small (but growing!) Holiday Book Collection.
The added bonus? Anything purchased from Amazon helps support the PGB cause. You are basically giving two gifts for the price of one!
The long awaited and long overdue next installment of the A Moveable Feast will be out by the end of the month. And we'll be exploring French Holiday Traditions on the podcast. The research has been making me very, very hungry.
I'm also working my way through all of the new Rick Steves' Paris and France related books and will be releasing a review by the end of the year. What are your favorite guidebooks? Drop me a line and let me know.
How do you spend the holiday season? Do you like to stay at home or travel (say to Paris) and avoid the hullabaloo? Share what you do by dropping me a line here or on Instagram. Personally, I like staying at home or just visiting family where I can cook for my loved ones. Though Paris at Christmas is magical!
For those who celebrate Thanksgiving or simply love an excuse to eat too much food with their peeps, I hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday!
À bientôt!
Michelle

Bonjour Reader! Well, the monthly relaunch turned into a few months later. After a few twists and turns in my employment, I’m back! In this issue, we’ll take a quick look at what’s going on with PGB and that pesky ETIAS thing. Then we’ll ponder driving in France. What's New? So far, we have a new France Virtuelle, celebrating the summer tourist season from the comfort of home! And I received a wonderful email from a fan of the podcast suggesting a topic! You know you are finally getting...
Bonjour Reader! Welcome to New Newsletter! For sometime now, I've wanted to relaunch the newsletter with an updated look and some better content. Here we are at long last! What's New? First, the look is a little bit cleaner and hopefully a bit more chic! But more importantly, I wanted to start fresh with what's included in the PGB newsletter: Monthly updates on Paris history and travel What's new with the PGB Blog & Podcast The Paris Tips, Tricks, & Trivia Corner The stories behind the...
Bonjour Reader! It has been too long! My rentrée had a difficult re-entry but now I'm back in gear. Have you also been having a hard time adjusting to the post-summer experience? What's New? We have two new podcast episodes so far this fall: one on life at the Medieval Sorbonne University and a look at Six Facts About Napoleon's Tomb. PGB also hit 500 podcast downloads! As of today, we're at 730. Can we hit a 1,000 by Halloween? I hope so! Thank you all for your support! Also, quick...
